At the subsidiary of the “National Agrarian Science and Educational Center” JSC – “South-West Research Institute of Livestock and Crop Production” LLP, started the construction of model cattle farm in the village of Aykol, at Kazygurt district. Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the scientific and technical program: “Transfer and adaptation of technologies in sheep husbandry based on model farms” allocated 40 million tenge to LLP "South-West Research Institute of Livestock and Crop Production" for the construction of a model farm for small cattle.

The purpose of this program is the transfer and adaptation of technologies for the automation of technological processes based on model farms in sheep breeding.

In the implementation of the program, generally accepted and private methods, instructions in the field of livestock, veterinary medicine, mechanization, feeding, fodder production and economics will be applied.

The model farm will have a sheep insemination point. 40 hectares are surrounded by an electric fence, which will save pasture rotation, vertical drainage wells have been drilled.

Scientists of the Institute note that this base will allow more to engage in breeding and improving animal productivity, as well as increasing labor productivity in raising sheep.

In general, the transfer and adaptation of technologies for the automation of production processes based on model farms in sheep breeding, taking into account the characteristics of a specific breed of sheep, local feed resources and the introduction of new technologies, including modern equipment, machines, necessary facilities, will help facilitate production processes and reduce production costs sheep breeding.

“The construction of a model farm was a long-standing desire of the scientists of our Institute: to have our own farm for our own livestock of Ordabasy sheep raised by us. Previously, we rented a room from a private trader, which was not economically profitable,” said the Deputy General Director of Institute, the doctor of agricultural sciences, professor Zh.A. Parzhanov.
