Young scientists of the Department of Geography, genesis and soil evaluation of the U. Uspanov Kazakh Research Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry A.K. Yershibulov and E.E. Songulov have conducted a survey of the soil cover of the “Agropark Ontustik” farm, which will have result in a soil map of the Agropark.

Subsidiary of the “National agrarian science and educational center” JSC – “U. Uspanov Kazakh Research Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry” LLP is a leading institution in the country engaged in fundamental and applied research in the field of soil and agrochemical science.

The Geography Department performs a number of tasks under the project “Implementation of innovative technologies to increase soil fertility and crop yields (bioorganic fertilizers)”, the main tasks are: compile digital soil maps using satellite imagery materials, create a soil database for the precision farming system. During field work, were laid soil sections as well as morphological description of soil profiles was made and samples are taken for subsequent analysis.

The soil map is the basis for the rational use of land and the development of soil fertility management systems. Detailed data on the structure of the soil cover can only be obtained by field mapping.

A friendly team has been formed in the Department of Geography, Genesis and Soil Assessment, which is a harmonious combination of many years of professional experience of the Institute’s old-timers and the desire to become true masters of their craft, who came here very recently by young scientists.
