On October 30, 2020, the Department of International Cooperation and Investment Attraction of the National Agrarian Science and Educational Center JSC held negotiations in the format of a video conference with the Chairman of the Board of the International Center for Technology Transfer CPET (hereinafter referred to as the Center) Ge Jian. The parties discussed the possibilities of mutually beneficial cooperation in the long term in the field of agricultural science.

 

Chairman of the Board Ge Jian informed the participants that in connection with the construction of a pilot free trade zone and free port with Chinese characteristics in Hainan province, in recent years, the provincial authorities have been actively pursuing a policy of openness, attracting highly qualified specialists from abroad to the island. Foreign personnel work in the provinces in areas such as tourism, education, health care, agriculture, science and many others. It is expected that by 2050 Hainan will become a unique international cluster with an advanced economic system, which includes a free trade zone, campuses of the best universities, the most modern scientific laboratories and headquarters of world corporations.

 

He also said that the Center recently received a license to conduct laboratory work in the field of science. Taking into account the fact that one of the priority areas of the Center in attracting foreign talent is the creation and development of Chinese-funded Academic Stations, scientific laboratories under the guidance of foreign academicians, the Center is currently actively working in Russia to create the Scientific North-East Asian Center ".

 

In turn, the Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Investment Attraction Dana Borumbayeva acquainted the foreign side with the activities of the NASEC” JSC, drawing attention to the effectiveness of work with foreign and Kazakhstani partners in the field of technology transfer, such as Valmont (USA), the Fund for the Commercialization and Implementation of Agricultural Technologies (South Korea), Rostselmash (Russian Federation) and Agromashholding (Kazakhstan). Also, the Chinese side was informed about the work of the Knowledge Distribution Centers, which during the pandemic conducted online consultations for agricultural producers through such social media networks as Facebook, Instagram, Telegram and other Internet resources. During the spring field and harvesting work of the current year, experts of the "NASEC" JSC conducted 444 online consultations with coverage of about 214,026 people and 22,380 views.

 

During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibility of providing, on a gratuitous basis, innovative agricultural technologies to Kazakhstan research institutes for scientific and technical work. The Kazakh side proposed to consider the financing investment projects of NASEC subsidiaries.

 

Following the talks, the participants expressed interest in mutually beneficial cooperation, and also decided to hold an extended meeting with the participation of representatives of NASEC subsidiaries.
