On May 12, 2020, the Zhangir Khan West Kazakhstan Agrarian and Technical University held another online consultation for farmers on the problems of tribal work in meat cattle breeding on the theme: "Selection of animals according to the main economic and useful characteristics. Selection of animals. Methods of assessing the tribal value of meat livestock (domestic and foreign experience). "
Let us remind that live consultations for farmers, to which scientists of Zhangir Khan West Kazakhstan Agrarian and Technical University participate, are carried out in support of the initiative of the National Agrarian Science and Educational Center.
The Chairman of the Board of NASEC T. Rakhimbekov called on agricultural scientists, as well as the heads of subsidiaries of the NASEC to provide all possible support to farmers during the spring field work. In this regard, scientists of Zhangir Khan WKATU go live and give their recommendations to agricultural producers. In turn, farmers actively participated in consultations.

Scientists focused on the signs of selection, given the characteristics and significance of their use in breeding work with meat breeds of cattle. Particular attention was paid to the selection for the assessment of the exterior and constitution of beef cattle, their ability to reproduce, and standard features of productivity. When presenting the issues of selection of animals, attention was paid to the practical issues of using forms of selection in herds of various uses. Particular attention was paid to assessing the breeding value of meat animals. It was also emphasized that in the majority of farms in our country that breed meat breeds of livestock, they still use imperfect methods when assessing the breeding value of animals - the unreliable outdated index rating E. Nasambayev noted that a more objective and accurate assessment of the breeding value of beef cattle is considered BLUPAM index estimation method (best linear unbiased forecast and animal model). An explanation was given of the essence of the BLUPAM method and its use in practice.
