"National Agrarian Science and Educational Center" JSC will provide scientific support for the production and processing of potatoes in Kazakhstan
Nur-Sultan, February 28, 2020, a memorandum of understanding and cooperation was signed between the “National AgrarianScience and Educational Center”JSC and the Association of legal entities “Union of Potato and Vegetable Growers of Kazakhstan”.
On the part of NASEC JSC, the memorandum was signed by the Chairman of the Board, ToleutaiRakhimbekov.
The purpose of cooperation of the memorandum is to establish partnerships and develop long-term, effective and mutually beneficial cooperation of the Parties aimed at the scientific support of the production and processing of potatoes. In particular, the parties agreed to cooperate in securing financing for “Fruit and vegetable research institute” LLP under the Targeted Funding Program and grants for projects agreed with the Union and co-financed by members of the Union, creating a Potato Center on the basis of the Pavlodar Agricultural Collective Farm, developing the material and technical base of “Fruit and vegetable research institute” LLP and ACF, transferring the Dutch system of certification of potato seeds NAKto Kazakhstan, breeding of new domesticvarieties and transfers of the best foreign varieties, development and promotion of agricultural technologies, extension of knowledge for farmers, application royalty payment to stimulate scientists and control the quality of seed, the production of organic potatoes, as well as to build a seed system in which the production of original and elite seed will be assigned to the “Fruit and vegetable research institute” LLPin collaboration with private elite seed farms, further seed production for private seed farms.
