Scientists of the Kazakh research institute of processing and food industry is subsidiary of the “National Agrarian Science and Educational Center” JSC, conducted an online seminar for farmers.
During the online seminar, a senior researcher, PhD 2nd year doctoral student Kasymbek Rabiga, made a presentation “Using triticale in the feed industry”.
The speaker noted that recently, in the feed industry, the requirements for the quality of feeds, improve technology have been continuously increasing, the range of raw materials, and the range of products are expanding. The task of the feed industry is to develop such products that combine both low price and guaranteed high quality and productive action.
It is necessary to maximize the potential of new domestic varieties of triticale in the feed industry. Attractive properties of the crop are its wide adaptation to abiotic stresses, a significantly higher yield potential on depleted soils, where wheat does not produce high-quality grain, as well as lower production costs. This crop is capable of surpassing both parents (wheat and rye) in many agricultural regions of the world, and superior to wheat in resistance to adverse soil and climatic conditions and to the most dangerous diseases, it is not inferior to rye.
