The Kazakh Research Institute of Agriculture and Plant Growing - the subsidiary enterprise of Non-commercial JSC “NASEC”. Today KazRIAPG is the only scientific organization in the country engaged in the breeding and seed production of sugar beets. Since 2019, the Institute within the framework of the project of JSC "Foundation of Science" operates a workshop for the processing of sugar beet seeds.

On December 11, 2019, a training seminar “Production and processing of seeds of domestic sugar beet hybrids” was held at the Kazakh Research Institute of Agriculture and Plant Growing. The event was organized with the participation of farms in Almaty and Zhambyl regions (“Kamkorlyk” LLP, “Zhylybulak Merke” LLP, “Samay” PF, “Ken dala” PF), specialists of the Department of Agriculture and scientists, also were shown the techniques of increasing winter resistance of seeds, technology of growing paternal and maternal forms of beet hybrids in greenhouse conditions. During the seminar was demonstrated a workshop for sugar beet hybrid seed production, which has modern seed processing equipment (Photo separator, seed cleaning machine, awns remover, incrustator-seed pelleting, convection dryer, seed dispenser, seed quality determination equipment), materials for sugar beet seed processing. Presentations were made on seed growing, cleaning, pelleting and drying of seeds, preparations for seed treatment, determination of sowing qualities of sugar beet seeds. At the end of the seminar, after the questionnaire, the seminar participants were awarded certificates.
