On May 11, 2020, an online consultation was held by “Zh. Zhiyembayev Kazakh Research Institute for Plant Protection and Quarantine” LLP on the topic "Protection of soybeans from pests in the conditions of the Almaty region". The speaker of the consultation was Mendybaeva Gulnaz Zhetkergenkyzy, she is senior researcher at the Department of Forest and Green Area Protection, PhD.
Identification of the characteristics of pests of soybean crops in “Agropark Ontustik” LLP was carried out according to the main phases of plant development. It has been established that on soybean crops the economic importance of 13 species of pests. Seed treatment was also restrained by pests, including, in addition to the fungicide and growth stimulator, an insecticide based on the active substance thiamethoxam, 265 g / l. Protectant restrained the number of pests. In soybeans, in places where alfalfa was the predecessor, weevils were identified. Timely treatment prevented plant damage by pests.
“Our experts have developed and tested a flow chart of integrated protection of soybeans from harmful organisms for “Agropark Ontustik” LLP, including treatment of seeds with protective-stimulating compounds against seed infection, against a complex of weed mixtures of potent mixtures of effective herbicides, effective insecticides against pests. Terms and frequency of treatments have been established depending on the phytosanitary state of crops. The results of production experiments showed a positive effect of soybean seed treatment on plant density and development of plants ", - said G.Mendybaeva.
It is worth noting that as a result of the application of the developed integrated soybean protection system, an additional yield was established.
“Based on the results obtained, it can be stated that the developed integrated plant protection system due to the effective suppression of harmful organisms allows an additional yield of 20-30%,” summarized G. Mendybayeva.
Protective measures against harmful organisms were carried out by a booster sprayer OPSh-18-2500 and edge treatments by a mounted tractor sprayer Rikosma 600 L.
Also, scientists of Kazakh Research Institute for Plant Protection and Quarantine conducted a new service for air treatment with pesticides using a specialized GAIA drone. Advantages: Tillage of areas with limited access to land. Processing of plots of any size (from 1 ha). Low flight handler, which minimizes the loss of the drug. Reliable and deep processing of plants. Possibility of night processing. Possibility of spot processing of problem areas. The cost of processing 1 hectare is lower than the cost of processing from an airplane due to the point application and minimal losses of the drug. Biological effectiveness against spider mites averaged 85.6%.
