The Head of State got acquainted with the educational and scientific-research activities of the institute held a conversation with teachers and students.

Chairman of the Board of S.Seifullin Kazakh AgroTechnical University Chairman of the Board of S.Seifullin Kazakh AgroTechnical University Akhylbek Kurishbayev presented to the President new varieties of crops which are produced using modern methods of molecular biology and genetic engineering. For 5 years scientists of the University managed to create new drought-tolerant varieties of wheat and barley. 

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was told about the application of new technologies in the process of production of bioorganic fertilizers, digitalization of the veterinary system and the process of animal accounting.

The Head of State was also introduced to modern methods of space monitoring and remote sensing of the earth, which allow to control the processes of land use. These methods are already used by akimats of Aktobe and Akmola regions. The President believes that similar practices should be used in other regions.

In addition, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was informed about the ties of the university with the leading scientific and educational centers of the world. One of the key areas of international cooperation of KazATU was the implementation of the AgroParisTech roadmap developed jointly with the French University, which allows to switch to dual education.

During the meeting with the students, the Head of State noted the relevance of the use of advanced technologies.

"You do an important thing. Robotics, digitalization and artificial intelligence are the reality of modern life, especially in developed countries. Therefore, we should never lag behind. Learn well, and you will definitely find your place in future life, because we will need such specialists both in the private and in the public sector, the President said.

In turn, the students thanked Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the support provided and for his instructions to increase the amount of the scholarship by 25% from January 2020.
