Azhimetov Nurzhan Nurmakhanbetovich is candidate of agricultural sciences.
N. Azhimetov’s scientific activity is connected with the technology of keeping, feeding and fodder preparation in sheep breeding.
N. Azhimetov was born on June 25, 1957 in the city of Lenger in Tolebi district of the South Kazakhstan region. He is graduate of the Alma-Ata Veterinary Institute (1979), South Kazakhstan State University named after M. Auezov (1999), Kainar University (1999). N.Azhimetov was postgraduate student of full-time postgraduate study at the Kazakh Scientific Research Technological Institute of Sheep Breeding (1982-1985), candidate of agricultural sciences (1988).
He began his career in 1979 as a senior livestock specialist at the Kazakh Scientific and Research Technological Institute of Sheep Breeding. In 1986-1992 worked as a junior researcher, chief specialist, researcher, scientific secretary at the Kazakh Scientific and Research Technological Institute of Sheep Breeding. During 1992-1993 was leading specialist, inspector of the Office of the Head of the South Kazakhstan Regional Administration. In 1993-1995 worked as deputy chairman of the Territorial Committee on State Property in the South Kazakhstan Region; In 1995-1998 worked as chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan on privatization in the South Kazakhstan region; During 1998-2006 worked as first deputy chairman, chairman of the South Kazakhstan Territorial Committee on State Property and Privatization; In 2006-2009 was akim of Kazygurt district of the South Kazakhstan region; In 2009-2012 - the chief inspector of the Akim's Office of the South Kazakhstan region. From May 2012 to the present, he has been working as the General Director of South-West Scientific Research Institute of Animal Husbandry and Plant Growing LLP of NASEC JSC.
Under the guidance of N. Azhimetov, breeding-genetic methods for producing fine-fleece sheep with a high fineness of wool fiber and pronounced meat characteristics were introduced in Samat farm; "Sapa"; "Sharbulak". With his direct participation, several scientific grants were won. Currently, he is engaged in the cultivation of fodder crops, the compilation of diets for feeding farm animals, as well as the preservation and development of fine-fleeced sheep breeding, the production of high-quality beef, lamb and wool, which increases the profitability and efficiency of farming.
In these areas he has published over 60 articles, 8 books, 3 atlas albums, 4 recommendations, 3 guidelines and 2 monographs. N. Azhimetov received 5 patents, filed 4 applications with the Intellectual Property Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, of which 3 patents for invention, 1 patent for breeding achievement.
N. Azhimetov is a member of the Industry Council of NASEC, in the international organization of FAO, the supervisory board of South Kazakhstan State University named after M. Auezov.
For a significant contribution to the development of domestic agricultural science, the introduction of scientific developments in agro-industrial production, he was awarded the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the jubilee medal “Kazakhstan Republikasynyn tuelsizdіgіne 10 zhyl”; anniversary medal "Astana 10 zhyl"; anniversary medal "Kazakhstan Republikasynyn tauelsіzdіgіne 20 zhyl"; Medal "Obliska Sіnіrgen Enbegi Ushin" by the Akimat of the South Kazakhstan Region, as well as with Letters of Appreciation and Diplomas of KazAgroInnovation JSC, by Decree of December 5, 2016 he was awarded the medal "Eren Enbegi Ushin".
N. Azhimetov is the Chairman of the branch of the public association "People's Democratic Patriotic Party "Auyl" in the Turkestan region, Member of the Public Council of Maslikhat of Shymkent city.
