On February 25, 2020, the Chairman of the Board of NASEC JSC Toleutai Rakhimbekov, met with the director of “Ukrainian scientific institute for plant breeding” Parii Iaroslav (Ukraine), Gennadiy Gorlach the director of “Solaris Hybrids”, Ukraine, and Dejan Jovanovic the director of “Solaris Hibridi” LLC, Novi Sad, Serbia.

Parii Iaroslav spoke about the activities of Ukrainian scientific institute for plant breeding and emphasized the interest of Ukrainian scientists in Kazakhstan’s experience in breeding, seed production and breeding hybrids of crops, in particular wheat, corn, winter colza and oilseed crops.

T. Rakhimbekov thanked for the interest shown and noted that seed production is an important factor in the sustainable development of agricultural production.

 “In the field of breeding and seed production, we have rich experience and best practice of Kazakhstani agricultural scientists. We are open for joint cooperation and from NASEC side we support the initiatives proposed today. To implement joint projects, I propose to conclude a memorandum of cooperation,” T. Rakhimbekov said.

During the meeting, First Deputy Chairman of the Board Essenbai Islamov spoke about scientific projects and their successful implementation by scientists of the agricultural sector of Kazakhstan, and he outlined common ground for joint cooperation between scientists of two countries. Essenbai Islamov suggested the Ukrainian colleagues to visit scientific research institutes and experimental stations where they could familiarize themselves with the experience of Kazakhstani breeders. In turn, the Ukrainian side, thanked for the proposal of the First Deputy Chairman of the Board and confirmed their visit to the Scientific institutes of NASEC JSC.

In conclusion, the parties agreed to sign a memorandum of cooperation and maintain interaction.
