Yesimbekova Minura Akhmetovna is doctor of biological sciences, associate professor.
M. Yesimbekova was born in 1950 in the city of Leninsk-Kuznetsk, Kemerovo region, Russian Federation.
In 1967 she entered the Pavlodar State Pedagogical Institute, specializing in biology-chemistry. In 1972 worked as a senior laboratory assistant at the Department of Botany of the Pavlodar Pedagogical Institute. In 1978, she graduated from the postgraduate school of the full-time department of the Kazakh Research Institute of Agriculture and Plant Growing.
Since 1996, she has been the head of the department of the gene pool of field crops — the head of the assignment for the formation, study, documentation and conservation of agricultural crops genetic resources of the Republican program "Gene Fund". Member of 6 international projects СIMMYT / ICARDA, FAO (2003, 2004, 2005-2007).
As a result of the studies, more than 17.0 thousand samples of 26 agricultural crops were collected and put into storage. From 2012 to 2014, the supervisor and coordinator of the Republican program “Formation of the gene pool of agricultural crops for sustainable and competitive development of the agricultural sector of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ministry of Agriculture of the RK.” The total number of publications is more than 160, including 1 methodological recommendation, 7 catalogs, 5 publications in the form of separate publications. The research results are presented in scientific papers of 19 International conferences on the conservation and use of plant genetic resources.
M. Yesimbekova - coordinator and co-author of 2 National reports on the status of Genetic Resources of Plants in Kazakhstan (1996 and 2007. FAO, IPGRI, Rome, Italy). M. Yesimbekova co-author of 13 highly productive, stress-resistant biotic and abiotic nature varieties of common wheat of various types of development. 4 varieties are allowed to use on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan: Nadezhda, Egemen, Ramin, Mayra. Varieties Arap (2004) and Myra (2012) are approved for use in Kyrgyzstan. Under her leadership 3 candidate dissertations in priority areas of spring and winter wheat breeding were defended.
In 2009 she was Laureate of the Ministry of Agriculture of the RK prize named after A.I. Barayev for the work “Genetic resources of agricultural plants of Kazakhstan - state and prospects of use for the sustainable and competitive development of the agricultural sector”; Laureate of the international Economic Cooperation Organization "ECO Awards 2010", 11th ECO Summit, Istanbul - Turkey. The prize was awarded for many years of research contributing to the formation of the national gene pool of agricultural crops.
