At the subsidiary of “National Agrarian Science-Educational Center” JSC - "Scientific-production Center for Grain Farming" LLP named after A.I. Barayev, scientists proposed recommendations on sowing in 2020 the varieties of perennial legumes and grasses bred out by Center.
"Scientific-production Center for Grain Farming" named after A.I. Barayev is a large scientific center of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of agriculture and crop production.
For sowing in 2020, the following varieties bred out in the Center are recommended: perennial herbs - alfalfa Shortandinskaya 2, Raikhan, Lazurnaya, Lucia 14; sainfoin Shortandinskiy 83, Flamingo, Shortandinskiy rubin; clover Volga Akbas, Bars, clover yellow Sarbas, Altynbas;awnless brome Limanyi, Akmolinskiy 91, Ishimskiy yubileinyi, Akmolinskiy izumrudnyi; straight brome Tselinogradskiy yubileinyi;regular wheat-grass Batyr, Shortandinskiy regular, Burabay; blue wheatgrass Kyzyl Zhar, slender wheatgrass Arman,Psathyrostachys juncea Shortandinskiy, Faradiz.
Among the factors, the greatest influence on the field germination of seeds of perennial herbs is exerted by the moisture of the sown soil layer. Obtaining and preservation of seedlings is closely related to the features of the main, pre-sowing tillage, timing of sowing and the depth of seed placement.
The main goal of spring cultivation is to preserve moisture in the soil as much as possible, create a loose layer to the depth of seed sowing and level the surface. The optimal seed placement depth for perennial grasses with an early spring sowing period is 2-3 cm.
