The variety of spring barley fodder direction "KURALAY" was bred by scientists of the Kazakh Research Institute of Agriculture and Plant Growing. The authors of the variety are Sariyev B.S., Zhundibayev K.K., Tokhetova L.A., Zhumakhanov B.M. The variety is resistant to early freezing, fading and shedding in case of overflow.

"Kuralay" was created by individual breeding from a hybrid population K-18712 (Canada) x 139 / 80-394 (Kazakhstan).

• Weight of 1000 grains - 45-50 g

• Grain nature - 712.1 g / l

• The protein content in the grain is 13.9%.

The average grain yield of the “Kuralay” variety is 59.3 c / ha. The variety is included in the State Register of breeding achievements, approved for use in the Republic of Kazakhstan since 2011 in Almaty, Zhambyl regions.
