Scientists of LLP “Kazakh U.Uspanov Research Institute of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry” has created a technology for the development of highly saline and alkaline soils under rice.

KazRISSA is a subsidiary of Non-commercial “NASEC” and today it is a leading institution in the Kazakhstan, engaged in fundamental and applied research in the field of soil and agrochemical science.

The aim and idea of the project to create technology for the development of highly saline and alkaline soils under rice is to increase the fertility of saline soils and to obtain the optimal rice crop in the first year of their development.

The innovation of the project lies in the fact that it allows the secondary use of drainage and waste water with a salinity of up to 3 g / l without a significant deterioration in soil fertility and a decrease in rice yield. Saving irrigation water. It accelerates the ripening of rice by 7-12 days, which for the conditions of Kazakhstan has an important role. Productivity increases by 25 percent or more.

It is worth noting that, in comparison with existing analogues, the technology allows you to master “waste” land with secondary saline soils that have left agricultural production and provides directional regulation of physicochemical and biological processes in soils.

Expected Result: Reduces the rate of application of phosphorus fertilizers by half. On rice crops excludes the use of contact-control anti-cereal herbicides. It receives a biologically full-fledged rice crop on saline soils with a salt content of up to 3% without their preliminary washing.

The technology is used by agricultural producers of the South Kazakhstan and Kyzylorda regions.
