Scientists of the Kazakh Research Institute of Agriculture and Plant Growing developed a variety of spring barley fodder direction, the variety "Zhan".

The authors of the variety are Sariyev B.S. and Zhundibayev K.K.

Variety "Zhan" was created by individual breeding from a hybrid population - 26180 (Stavropol territory) x Kharkovskiy 73.

The variety is resistant to lodging and shedding.

Variety "Zhan" is included in the State Register of selection achievements approved for use in the Republic of Kazakhstan since 2009 in Almaty, Zhambyl and Turkestan regions.

• Variety - Nutans, two-row, spring.

• The growing season is 70-88 days.

• Weight of 1000 grains - 50 gr.

• The content of crude protein in grain is 11.8–13.2%.

   The average grain yield is 24.1 c / ha.
