Kenenbayev Serik Barmenbekovich is doctor of agricultural sciences, professor, academician of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of RK.
Kenenbaev S.B. was born in 1954 in the Shu district of the Zhambyl region. He began his labor and scientific activities in 1977 after graduating from the Kazakh Agricultural Institute at the KazGiproZem Design Institute as a soil engineer.
In 1978, he entered full-time postgraduate school at the Kazakh Research Institute of Agriculture named after V.R. Williams. He made labor path from 1980-2003 as senior laboratory assistant, junior researcher, senior researcher, head of the laboratory, chief scientific secretary, deputy director for science of the Institute. In 2003-2004 he was Director of the research institute of potato and vegetable economy. In 2004-2009 he was Director General of the Scientific-production Center for agriculture and crop production of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan (nowadays Kazakh research institute of agriculture and plant growing). In 2009-2012 he worked as Vice-president, President, and Chairman of the Board of KazAgroInnovation JSC of Ministry of Agriculture of the RK. From 2012 to 2018 worked as General Director of the Kazakh Research Institute of Agriculture and Plant Growing.
Scientific activity of Kenenbayev S.B. is associated with anthropogenic changes in the genetic properties of arable soils in Kazakhstan, ways of their optimization and development of fertility parameters, as well as elements of resource-saving technology for the cultivation of crops based on minimization and zero cultivation, biologization, greening and diversification of crop production.
Under his leadership and direct participation, economically and environmentally sound farming systems of a new generation, agrolandscape farming with adaptation of cultivation technologies, and differentiated application of fertilizers in precision farming, modern methods of drip irrigation have been developed.
He has published 340 scientific works, including 4 monographs, 16 books and catalogs as well as 44 recommendations. The author of 14 patents and copyright certificates for invention and breeding achievement. Under his leadership, 3 doctors of sciences, 7 candidates of sciences, 3 PhD doctors and 6 undergraduates are protected scientific works.
He is Laureate of the Republican State Prize of A.I. Barayev (2009), he was awarded the medal “20 years of Independent Kazakhstan” (2011), the badge “Auyl sharuashylygy salasynyn uzdіgі” (2014), Certificate of Honor of the NAS of the RK (2014), the medal "Kazakhstan Republikasynyntuelsіzdіgіne 25 zhyl" (2016) and other state and foreign letters and medals. He is an honorary citizen of the Shu district of Zhambyl region (2008), Karasai district of Almaty region (2013) and Almaty region (2014).
