At the subsidiary of the “National Agrarian Science and Educational Center” JSC - the Karabalyk Agricultural Experimental Station (KAES), is fully prepared for spring field works.

The scientists of the KAES intend to carry out the closure of moisture in soil- immediately after the end of the April weather. This operation, scientists recommend this spring to everyone who encountered a drought last season. In case of warm weather in April, mechanical or chemical weed control will become mandatory.

Under the leadership of Damir Kaldybayev, in 2018, the technical re-equipment of the agricultural experimental station began. In 2018-2019 was purchased modern agricultural equipment in amount of 1.5 billion tenge. And at the moment, technical equipment allows all agricultural activities to be carried out efficiently and in an optimal time, which is the key to reducing losses.

In addition, at KAES was launched a program to replace varieties of agricultural crops that had exhausted their potential with new ones of their own breeding. This season, new varieties will occupy half the area. These are the famous “Aina” varieties of soft wheat, not subject to fungal diseases, as well as “Fantasy”, “Severyanochka”, “Lamis”. Durum wheat “Asangali 20”, barley “Medikum 18” and “Velikan”, oat “Sulu”.

“For a stable harvest, it is important to correctly determine the share of crops by maturity period. We give 50% of the fields to mid-ripening varieties, 30% to early-ripening varieties, 20% to late-ripening varieties,” said Damir Kaldybayev, head of the Karabalyk agricultural experimental station.

It is worth noting that KAES did not raise the price for its seeds, fixing at 120 thousand tenge per ton for most varieties. “Aina” was initially more expensive, 150 thousand tenge, but despite this, the demand for it was so great that the entire volume has already been sold out.
