Kireyev Aitkalym Kusainovich is doctor of agricultural sciences, professor, academician of the Academy of agricultural sciences of Kazakhstan.

Kireyev A.K. was born in 1943 in the city of Cherepanovo, Novosibirsk region. In 1962 he graduated with honors from the agronomy department of the Talgar agricultural college. In 1967 he graduated from the Agronomy department of the Kazakh State Agricultural Institute.

All labor activity A. Kireyev connected with the Kazakh Research Institute of Agriculture named after V.R. Williams. In the years 1967-1970 he worked as a senior laboratory assistant in the department of non-irrigated agriculture. In the years 1971-1976 - the junior specialist, and from 1977 to 1987 - senior researcher in the same department. In 1988, he was elected as head of laboratory of rainfed agriculture and grain cultivation technology. From 1994 to 1997 – head of the laboratory of adapted farming systems of the rainfed department. From 1998 to the present – the head of the department of agriculture. In 1996 he defended his dissertation for the degree of Doctor of agricultural sciences in the specialty general agriculture.

He is one of the main developers of a soil-protective farming system for rainfed lands in the southern and southeastern regions of Kazakhstan. Back in the 1980s, he was one of the first in Kazakhstan to scientifically substantiate the possibility of reducing the intensity of impact on the soil by minimizing the main tillage in crop rotation and using zero tillage depending on the prevailing weather conditions, which provides a 30-35% reduction in energy costs and an increase labor productivity is two to three times.

The main results of his research are included in the "Recommendations on the agricultural system" of Almaty (1978), Taldy-Korgan (1978), Zhambyl (1978) regions, in the book "Agricultural system" of Almaty (2005) and Zhambyl (2006)  regions, “Directory of the agronomist of the Kazakh SSR”, in the “Recommendations for improving zonal farming systems”, as well as in the book “Resource-saving technologies for crop cultivation in the south-east of Kazakhstan”.

Kireyev A.K. published 240 scientific papers, including 37 recommendations, 26 scientific articles published in foreign journals, and in 2001 the book “Tillage on the bogar of Kazakhstan” was written and published. He prepared one doctor of sciences and 11 candidates of science.
