Abugaliyev Izteleu Abugaliyevich (1930-2004) is Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, academician of National Academy of Sciences RK.

He is a prominent scholar in farming and crop production. He worked at the Institute of Botany of the Academy of Sciences of KazSSR (1956-1959). Senior Researcher, Head of Department (1959-1967), Deputy Director (1967-1975), Director of the Kazakh Agricultural Research Institute named after V.R. Williams (1975-1995).

For 20 years he led the scientific and technical program of agriculture, crop production, breeding and seed production in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Under his leadership, zone systems of rich, non-live, mountain and irrigated agriculture have been developed and widely introduced into production, more than 150 varieties of s.h. crops have been produced, their seed production has been organized, hydromodulation, forest-forestry zoning of the territory of south-eastern Kazakhstan has been carried out.

Abugaliyev I.A. was born 1930 in Jangalinsky district of West Kazakhstan region. In 1953 he graduated from the Kazakh State University named after S.M. Kirov. Doctor of Science, Professor (1987), Corresponding Member of VASSHNIL (1978).

He made an invaluable contribution to the development of domestic agrarian research. Under his leadership and with his personal involvement, about 10 new varieties and hybrids of wheat, corn and sugar beet were brought out. His unique scholarly works have been translated into many languages around the world. Under the leadership of Abugaliyev I.A. 20 candidate and doctoral theses were defended.

Izteleu Abugalievich was not only a talented scientist - first of all, he was a talented leader, organizer of science. Thanks to the organizational abilities of Izteleu Abugalievich, the Kazakh Research Institute of Agriculture named after V.R.Viliams, and now - the Kazakh Research Institute of Agriculture and Crop Production became the recognized flagship of agrarian science of Kazakhstan.

It was during his leadership that modern laboratories were created at the Institute, social infrastructure and experimental farms were developed. During the years of Abugaliyev 's leadership, I.A. Institute became a major scientific center not only in the USSR, but also outside it.

Honored Worker of Science of Kazakhstan (1984). Member of Kazakh Academy of S.H. Sciences (1994), National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan (1996). He was awarded 2 Orders of the Red Banner of Labor, the Order of Honor, gold, silver and bronze medals of the VDNH. More than 260 scientific papers have been published. It has 15 copyright certificates of invention.
