The variety of spring soft wheat “Zhenis” was bred at the Kazakh Research Institute of Agriculture and Plant Growing and the Institute of Plant Biology and Biotechnology.

The variety is characterized by drought tolerance, resistance to shedding and dropping of the spike.

The authors of the variety are Urazaliyev R.A., Nurpeisov I.A., Tynybayev N.K., Tyupina L.N., Sedlovsky A.I., Rakhimbayev I.R.

Description of the variety: The shape of the bush is closed. The spike is fusiform, friable. In the upper part of the spike there are single sphenoid sprout from 14-20 mm long.

Variety: Lutescens.  

The growing season is 89 days.

Resistant to Ustilago tritici.

It responds positively to optimal sowing times and a high agricultural background.

Grain quality refers to valuable wheat.

The average yield on the semi-rich dryland is 37.4 c / ha.

The variety has been allowed for use since 2006 in Almaty, Zhambyl, Turkistan regions.
