NASEC JSC signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation with the Food Contract Corporation for development of the agricultural sector
Nur-Sultan, 14 February 2020 – a memorandum of understanding and cooperation was signed between the non-commercial joint-stock company National agrarian scientific and educational Center and National Company Food Contract Corporation JSC.
The purpose of cooperation between the Parties is to promote the development of the agro-industrial complex through the implementation of joint efforts in such priority areas as: the formation of a market for the circulation of seeds of grains, oilseeds and leguminous crops, as well as providing agricultural producers with seeds from the resources of the NASEC, the creation of a seed fund to provide agricultural entities the best breeding achievements of domestic and foreign breeding of grain crops, assistance in finding the best foreign varieties and hybrids, adapted in different soil and climatic conditions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, making a list of foreign manufacturers of cereal seeds, analytical and forecasting work on the demand for grain and seed crops in domestic and external markets.
From NASEC side memorandum was signed by the Chairman of the Board, Toleutai Rakhimbekov.
“Within the framework of the signed memorandum, the NASEC JSC will provide recommendations and scientific support for the production, procurement, processing, storage, transportation, sale and use of grain seeds. Our Center also intends to develop recommendations that contribute to increasing the efficiency of grain seed turnover and develop methods for predicting crop yields and evaluating the quality indicators of crops at the stages of plant development, both by traditional methods, using digitalization and space monitoring data. All this will contribute to the formation of a market for the turnover of seeds of grain crops,” - T. Rakhimbekov emphasized.
“Within the framework of the signed memorandum, it is planned to provide support to domestic agricultural producers by providing agricultural producers with seeds from the NASEC resources on the basis of futures and other transactions. We will also work on the formation of a market for the circulation of intellectual property for varieties of grain crops,” - T. Rakhimbekov said.
The parties also agreed to work on improving state support tools in the agro-industrial complex and to cooperate actively in the framework of the set tasks.
