On February 6, 2020, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of NASEC Rauan Erulankyzy met with representatives of the German company ADT Project Consulting. The meeting was also attended by employees of the German-Kazakhstan Agro-Political Dialogue and industry experts of the NASEC. International long-term expert Uwe Veddige, as the project manager to increase production competence for the sustainable development of dairy farming in Kazakhstan, has presented his project. The aim of this project is to increase the operational and institutional competence of agribusiness entities for the development of modern and sustainable milk production in Kazakhstan.

The Deputy Chairman of the Board, Rauan Yerulankyzy, in turn, supported the idea of ​​the Project and noted its relevance for the livestock sector in Kazakhstan.

“From our side, we can offer a pool of experts and consultants in the dairy livestock industry in view of the fact that the NASEC has scientists in this industry. Today, NASEC has 22 Knowledge distribution centers, each of which has 5-8 extension agents. Every year we consult about 3 thousand farmers and conduct more than 100 seminars in various areas of the agricultural sector. We also conduct paid seminars at the request of agricultural producers and various events such as Field Days, master classes, etc. The NASEC has vast experience and potential in the transfer of knowledge among farmers,” said R. Yerulankyzy.

The project will be implemented by ADT and AGRAR CONSULTING.

The implementation of the Project provides advanced training for managers and specialists of dairy farms in Kazakhstan. The parties agreed that the NASEC will be the main partner of the Project on the knowledge dissemination component, on the possible conduct of training for consultants, for Kazakhstani specialists with the participation of foreign experts, which will improve advisory skills and expand the range of services of local experts and partners provided for dairy farms and milk producers. Uwe Veddige noted that the Ministry of Agriculture of the RK will be able to use the results of the Project in its work to support milk production.

Rauan Yerulankyzy emphasized the need for informational support of the Project, proposed a number of tools for the effective transfer of knowledge to farmers, and noted the importance of classifying the transferred knowledge and the readiness of the NASEC to participate in the development of training methods.

The project manager, Uwe Veddige, thanked Rauan Erulankyzy for support of the Project from the NASEC side.

In conclusion, the parties agreed to create a working group and actively develop the Project.
