In September-November, the highest soil moisture content (69-140 mm) was observed in the northern part of Kazakhstan as well as mountain and submontane regions in eastern, southern and southeastern parts of the country, informed the press-service of Kazhydromet on December 9.

“Locally moisture content reached 150-320 mm. It was about 68 mm in the meter-deep soil layer across the rest of the territory” - was stated in the message.

Western part of Kazakhstan, Pavlodar and Jambyl regions had mainly unsatisfactory soil moisture content (lower than norm).

In Akmola, North Kazakhstan, Kostanay, Karagandy, East Kazakhstan, Almaty and Turkistan regions, soil moisture content varied between unsatisfactory (lower than norm) and optimal (higher than norm).
