Scientists of Kazakh Research Institute of Agriculture and Plant Growing LLP are working on the creation of competitive varieties and hybrids of grain, grain feed, legumes, fodder, oilseeds, industrial crops, resistant to environmental stress factors using classical methods and modern achievements of biotechnology, bioengineering. Thus, in Kazakh Research Institute of Agriculture and Plant Growing was created variety of winter soft wheat “KARASAI”.

The authors of the variety are Urazaliyev R.A., Nurbekov S.I., Zhangaziyev A.S., Abugaliyeva A.I.

The variety has the following characteristics: pyramidal spike, colored, dispersing awns. The grain is medium in size, red. The protein content is 18.2%, crude gluten is 37.3%, the strength of flour is 425 e.a., the volume of bread is 982 ml. with a total baking score of 3.94 points. Weight of 1000 grains is 41.0 g. Specieces: Barbarossa (barbarossa)

In conditions of tough bogara lands, the yield of the Karasai variety was 17.7 centners per hectare, while the productivity of the Bezostaya standard 1 was 12.8 centners per hectare. The excess is 4.9 c / ha, or 38.3%.

The potential yield of the variety under irrigation conditions in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 9.45 t / ha.

Since 2009, the variety has been approved for cultivation on dry lands on a clean fallow lands by non-fallowed predecessors of the Almaty region. Variety "KARASAI" is perspective in the Zhambyl region.
