Scientists of the subsidiary organization of "National Agrarian Science and Educational Center" JSC - LLP “Kazakh U.Uspanov Research Institute of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry” shared their experience during the online consultation on the topic “Preservation and improvement of soil fertility is the key to a future harvest”.

Suleimenov Beibut Ualihanovich is doctor of agricultural sciences, academician of the Academy of agricultural sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, chief researcher of the Department for Agrochemistry and Ecology of Soils at LLP "U. Uspanov Kazakh Research Institute of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry" informed about soil and agrochemical research and the introduction of innovative technologies.

Participation in the implementation of the targeted scientific and technical program.

In 2018, “Agropark Ontustik” LLP was established in the Karasai district of Almaty region on the basis of “Kaskelenskoye ES” LLP. Based on the consortium agreement, NASEC subsidiaries: scientists of LLP “Kazakh Research Institute of Agriculture and Plant growing”, Zh.Zhienbayev Kazakh research institute for plant protection and quarantine Kazakh Research Institute of Mechanization and Electrification of Agriculture and "U. Uspanov Kazakh Research Institute of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry" conduct joint scientific research on: "Creating an innovative agrotechnological park for the implementation of precision farming." The purpose of the program: to create an innovative agrotechnological park for the implementation of precision farming on an area of 1630 hectares in the Almaty region. Each organization performs research tasks according to technical specifications.

LLP "U. Uspanov Kazakh Research Institute of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry" performs research in three areas:

- assessment of the agrochemical state of the soil, determination of the availability of soil with humus and macrocells, compilation of agrochemical cartograms;

- soil research, the creation of a soil database and compilation of a soil map;

- Introduction of technology to increase the productivity of corn, soybeans, winter wheat and spring barley.

This year, it is planned to complete an agrochemical survey of arable land on an area of 1630 hectares; agrochemical cartograms of the content of humus, mobile forms of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in the soil have been compiled. Cartograms are used to calculate doses of mineral fertilizers for crops, taking into account the actual supply of soil with nutrients. Work has begun on the differentiated use of mineral fertilizers taking into account cartograms. The use of mineral fertilizers based on agrochemical cartograms makes it possible to even out soil fertility and use fertilizers efficiently.

Based on the results of field studies, an interactive electronic soil map of the territory of the Agropark was created (M 1: 25000). A soil map is necessary for the rational use of soils, taking into account their natural fertility, quantitative and qualitative assessment of the land fund is used in land management, they are used for agro-production grouping and soil assessment, the structure of sown areas, land reclamation, fertilizer use, etc. are determined.

The introduction of innovative technology to increase soil fertility and productivity of corn, soybean, winter wheat and spring barley is carried out on an area of 180 hectares using a liquid humic bio drug developed by scientists of the institute. BioEcoGum liquid humic biological product (certificate of conformity KZ.7500317.01.01.21940 dated from June 05, 2019) contains macroelements (N, P, K, Ca, Mg), microelements (Mn, Mo, Zn, Se), growth stimulants and effective microorganisms. Biological treatment of seeds before sowing increases stress resistance and germination of seeds, single and double spraying of plants of grain and leguminous plants enhances growth and development, increases the weight of seeds, provides a reliable increase in yield from 25 to 67 percent. The use of BioEcoGum reduces the content of starch and gluten index, increases the content of protein, gluten in wheat grain. The cost of using BioEcoGum liquid humic biological product ranges from 15 to 20 thousand tenge per 1 ha.

Agrochemical inspection of arable land.

The Institute provides agrochemical inspection services for arable land of agricultural producers in Almaty, Zhambyl, Kyzylorda, Turkestan and other areas with a research protocol and recommendations on the use of fertilizers. Every year their number increases. Each farmer seeks to know the actual fertility of the soil and effectively use their land.

Advocacy and dissemination of scientific achievements of the institute. The scientists of the institute have developed innovative technologies that are being introduced in various regions of Kazakhstan. Field days are held annually the seminar meetings with producers: based on Agropark Ontustik; on the basis of the farmer’s school of the Institute for rice breeders of the Balkhash region, in Enbekshikazakh district of Almaty region for corn breeders; in the Otrar and Maktaaral districts of the Turkestan region for corn breeders and cotton growers, in the Shieli district of the Kyzylorda region for rice breeders.

Training of young personnel. The Institute in conjunction with the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Kazakh National Agrarian University and S. Seifullin Kazakh Agro Technical University is involved in the training of young professionals. Undergraduates and doctoral students undergo practical training, participate in field and laboratory research. After graduation, many                            students stay to work in the departments of the institute. The number of young specialists at the institute is 40 percent. The institute has a hostel for young professionals.
