On January 28, 2020, the Chairman of the Board of NASEC Toleutai Rakhimbekov met with Giovanni Capannelli, the Country Director Kazakhstan Resident Mission of Asian Development Bank.

T.Rakhimbekov informed about scientific and practical results of NASEC activities as well as promising projects of scientists. Giovanni Capannelli in turn told about the projects implemented in the agricultural sector of Kazakhstan and believes in necessity to carry out fundamental reforms in the agricultural complex of Kazakhstan. In particular, ADB is currently working with the Government of Kazakhstan to develop proposals for the implementation of reforms of the country 's agro-industrial complex. In this regard, taking into account many years of scientific experience and valuable practical knowledge in the field of agro-industrial complex of T.Rakhimbekov, ADB invited the Chairman of the Board of the NASEC to be a member of the working group on the development of reforms of agro-industrial complex.

T.Rakhimbekov supported the idea of ADB to create a broader strategy in the agricultural sector of Kazakhstan, as well as to carry out deep reforms in the industry. In this regard, T.Rakhimbekov noted that scientists are the leading force in the implementation of agricultural projects.

“I have always talked about the need for rural development, because this will contribute to improving agriculture in the country. I also consider it necessary to change the ideology of our population that farming is not prestigious and unprofitable. This is a misconception and it needs to be changed,” - T. Rakhimbekov said.
