Subsidiary organization of "National Agrarian Science and Educational Center" JSC - "Kazakh Research Institute for Plant Protection and Quarantine” conducted an online consultation for farmers on the topic "Fruit crop pests and control measures". The speaker was the head of the department for protection of fruit, vegetable and melon cultures, candidate of biological sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kopzhasarov Bakyt Kenzhekozhayevich.

Increasing the productivity of gardens and vineyards, as well as all agricultural production sectors, is largely determined by the timely implementation of protective measures against numerous pests and diseases.

In the context of new forms of economic activity in the Republic of Kazakhstan, when long-term plantations have been transferred to the ownership of peasant farms and various agricultural formations, effective protection is not always feasible because of the low capacity of farms, the lack of qualified specialists in them, ignorance of the peculiarities of the development of harmful organisms, and therefore the establishment of optimal dates for the conduct of protective measures. Many farmers, owners of home and country plots do not have a sufficient understanding of the mechanism of action of insecticides, fungicides and herbicides, the doses and timing of their use against certain pests.

In Kazakhstan, with its diverse soil-climatic and ecological-geographical conditions, with a sharply continental climate, the species composition of harmful organisms is quite widespread. The peculiarities of climatic conditions in different regions of the Republic cause different degree of prevalence and harm of harmful organisms, some changes in bioecology and development of phytophages, and in the timing of protective measures.
